On Thursday, I took my younger cousin to the Degrassi premiere in Toronto. It was the premiere for their newest season and all the cast members were there, which was pretty exciting. There were also actors there from past Degrassi casts. We went out for crepes first and then returned for the interview portion. We both got a few photos with the cast and then grabbed seats to watch the actual episode. I have to admit, I cried real tears during the premiere and I am not a big cryer when it comes to television. I guess seeing the actors interact in real life made me a little more attached to their characters on the show. The chemistry between certain characters just felt more real to me. I had an amazing time. One of the best Thursday nights I've had in a while, by far.
Then last night, I went out for dinner and drinks with a friend of mine that I've known since elementary school. We've literally been friends since we were about 9 years old and although we went to different high schools and universities, we haven't grown apart. Since I spend most of the year in the States, it's always good to catch up when I'm in Toronto. After we had dinner downtown Toronto, we went to the Marianas Trench concert. It was absolutely amazing. Sometimes I do get a little bit nervous when it comes to seeing artists perform live, because a lot of the time it isn't nearly as good as the studio version. Marianas Trench is incredible live. Josh Ramsay has the craziest vocals .. I almost fell in love last night. Almost. I had such a great time at the concert and the venue where they played is just so perfect for summer concerts. I actually have tickets to see Drake there next month during his annual OVOfest ... so I'm so excited to return. This has definitely been one of the high points of my summer thus far and a great way to wind down before law school.
