The reading assignments for school are beginning to pick up a little bit. I guess they were just giving us some time to adjust, but now that the first week is over ... it's starting to turn into the real deal. I've also been called on a few more times. It's getting better. I've made quite a few new friends in my section, which eases the anxiety from being called. We can laugh it off together now if we have no clue what's going on. It also helps when we read together in the library and can put our heads together to try and figure out what is happening in a particular case. I'm not sure how other law schools around the nation are but so far, my school doesn't seem very cut throat at all. It's competitive obviously, but we still help each other out. Upper year law students have also been really helpful in showing us how to brief cases and what to focus on in our readings. I've also been hearing a lot of terms that I'm already familiar with (I was a Criminal Justice major and my high school also offered International law classes). So far, so good. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I can keep this all under control.
P.S. It also doesn't hurt to have the pacific ocean as the backdrop when you're reading about boring statutes.
