What a Week !

So last week was an absolute nightmare for me. We had our first memo assignment for our writing class (mind you, there are only two memos written this semester) and I was making pretty good progress. I'd actually finished my first draft early and was on my way to starting my notes and readings for Civ Pro the next day. Well, long story short, my computer crashed! Like completely crashed, dead FOREVER. Nothing was backed up and literally all my notes so far were on it. Law school moves pretty quickly so I actually had 90+ pages of notes from classes and readings that were just gone. Not to mention my memo that I needed for the next day. So I was in panic mode. It was absolutely brutal trying to remember and write out my memo with no notes and research. Then to make matters worse, the morning I go to class with no computer, I get called on. So I had nothing to go off of because literally I had just lost everything. It was awful ... then my car started acting up. Because of course, while I'm in the middle of an academic breakdown, that is the perfect time for car trouble. Anyways, long story short ... I called my mommy and daddy with all the dramatics and hysterics that my life had to offer at that point ... and they got me another car and a MacBook. Thank God for my parents. I don't know what I would do without them. Other than that, things here have been alright. The workload is definitely picking up. So note to students everywhere ... don't be dumb like me. BACK UP your computer. Save yourself the very unnecessary stress.

  1. OMG WHAT A NIGHTMARE.

So wait, you wrote the whole memo all over again?! geez. Thank god for parents is right! My laptop broke right before I start prepping for the bar exam and they got me a new laptop also.

I'm hoping your next week goes better and that your classmates send you their notes!

    2. PS: you probably know about this but have you signed up for dropbox? dropbox saved me during law school as I was able to access my documents from any computer and I knew that if my computer broke down, I would always have my files. This is my referral link --> https://db.tt/kD4sufJ7 (it's free... I just get more data space if you use it).

    3. I've been using google drive .. but someone did tell me about dropbox as well so I will probably try that too ! After my experience, you can never have your documents backed up in too many locations lol :) thank you !!

  2. I had a situation like this. But no parents to save me. I had to pay $200 to fix my laptop and $2000 on my car. My own money. BUMMER!

Glad things worked out for you though. Now back to progressing.

  5. I can definitely understand how stressed you could have been having this happen to you. And yes, it is VERY important to have your files backed up and a back up to your back up! LOL! I generally back up on my portable hard drive and on google drive. Google Drive is a life saver!

And thank God for parents right!? How sweet of them. And that's one thing less that you have to worry about. Really nice ride! ROAD TRIP!
