Dress: Brandy Melville | Hat: Topshop
Today I attended a community garden party on campus. It was hosted by the Black Law Student Association, but it was a great networking event for other graduate students as well as a few undergrads. The president of the university was also in attendance so it was really great to get to chat with him and other faculty members. I always enjoy these little kick back days ... not to mention, the food was phenomenal! Nothing like some good soul food. I really wish the weather was warmer though because as much as I love a nice garden party, the wind was really killing my vibe. It's a blessing and a curse living so close to the ocean. Everyone was freezing by the end of it and we sort of had to wrap up a little bit early. Overall though it was a great time and I got to meet new people and make new friends. Hopefully we'll actually keep in contact as the school year progresses. After that, I stopped by Starbucks on the way home for a much needed Chai Latte (with an extra pump of vanilla of course) to warm me up. I gotta say, even with all these Fall drinks on the menu right now, nothing beats the Chai Latte when you really need some warming up :)
You always look so cute! My best friend (the one I told you about who's also in law school) is also a part of her University's Black Law Student Association! But I don't think they had a garden party with Soul Food! University of Alabama needs to step it up! =P. Glad you were able to meet new people and make new friends and glad you found something to keep you warm! It's getting chilly here in Florida too!

Aw thanks so much ! This was the first garden party they've hosted but it was definitely a success. I'm so glad to be a part of this group :) Hope you find something (or someone) to warm you up in Florida! thanks for stopping by
Deletecute outfit.
ReplyDeletehappy you're not a loner out there, haha.
haha , I'm still a loner sometimes ... but every once in a while i like to socialize :)
DeleteSuch an adorable dress and I love the outfit. Garden parties are always fun. As a matter of fact, any outdoor party is delightful to me. And food.. yes.. to soul food!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried a Chai Latte.. but my friend swears by it. She's a starbucks fanatic!
thanks so much :) and chai lattes are the best; i'd especially recommend it for the non coffee drinkers out there !
DeleteCute dress, that's my favorite style right now. Sounds like a fun networking event. I tend to go for my usuals at my coffee spots too. I'm not a huge fan of the pumpkin spice everyone goes crazy about.

DeleteChai latte is my all-time favorite! It's so good with soy milk -- it's much creamier. You look super cute! Couldn't imagine wearing a dress right now over here on the east coast.
