Body, Mind and Soul

Although it isn't my goal for the month of January, one thing that I do want to work on in 2014 is being healthier in all aspects of my life.  I will be first to admit that I've neglected my physical fitness since I graduated from university.  I played varsity soccer for all four years and I kind of used it as my excuse to not work out.  I would just think to myself "well I'm not fat yet", so that was enough to keep me from being active.

Well this year, I've come to terms with the fact that being active isn't just about how you look on the outside.  Exercising really does affect the way you feel, your energy level and how you perform across the board.  Thankfully I'm surrounded by friends that feel the same way.  Today after class we went on a hike through some gorgeous Malibu canyons and it was so much fun.  It's a great way to exercise without doing anything too strenuous ... and when you're surrounded by such beautiful scenery, it's almost a shame not to.  I definitely plan on doing this a lot more often.  Such a great activity!

  5. *As I sat here and talked myself out of working out today* I definitely needed to read this. You are very lucky to have people around you that feels the same way. That always helps!

  6. This post made me feel guilty of my laziness ;) I share with you the same opinion, exercising is so so so important and it's not only about the physical aspect, it reflects on so many other levels in our life! Currently the only thing I do is yoga, which I love so incredibly much, however I really wanted to do other stuff more "exigent". I really wanted to start running at least one time a week, but the problem is: all my friends are so lazy hahah And I don't really like to go alone since it's so much more entertaining when you are with someone else!

    1. Do you like music ? Sometimes I like running with an IPod just because it's the only time I really get to enjoy my music. It makes running alone a lot more enjoyable for me :)
